  • Shawn Davis was arrested Jan. 13 on first-degree murder charges in the stabbing death of Georgetown University Hospital employee Tawanna Barnes Copeland in her Southwest D.C. apartment Dec. 7.
  • The United States Attorney’s Office has promised a renewed effort to investigate unsolved murders in D.C.
  • Bill Mitchell, 33, was shot to death late Wednesday night near Truxton Circle.
  • Ramona Gray pleaded guilty Friday Jan. 21 in the stabbing death of Shemese Grant on Aug. 31 in a parking lot on Good Hope Road SE.

  • James Campbell of Bladensburg, Md. was killed in the 2900 block of Southern Avenue SE.
  • Raymond Roseboro appeared in court on second degree murder charges in the death of Prince Okorie.
  • Also this week, the family of slain Catholic University grad student Neil Godleski told local press that Okorie was a witness in the trial prosecuting their son’s alleged killer.
  • The shooting victim found shot in a car near a house party in Southeast D.C. last Saturday was identified as 18-year-old Antonio Wade.
  • Probable cause was found to try defendants Carl Purvis and Timothy Foreman for the death of Gregory Joyner.
  • Georgetown University Hospital employee Tawana Barnes Copeland was buried, two weeks after she was found stabbed to death in her apartment.
