On Tuesday, Claude Kinney is expected for a preliminary hearing with Judge Gerald Fisher. Kinney is suspected of first-degree murder while armed in the shooting death of Alicia Wheeler.

Phillip Crooms is also expected for a preliminary hearing. Judge Lynn Leibovitz is expected to take the case. Crooms is suspected of felony murder in the death of Delonte Butler. Leibovitz asked prosecutors at a preliminary hearing on Aug. 12 to clarify the cause of death.

Thursday, Latonya Hall is expected for a status hearing with Judge Thomas Motley. Hall pleaded guilty in March to killing Michaeldeon Roy Talley.

On Friday Oma Crawford is expected for sentencing by Judge William Jackson. Crawford pleaded guilty in July to second-degree murder in the shooting death of Ralph Thomas.

On Tuesday, Aaron Adams is expected by Judge Gerald Fisher for a bond review hearing. Adams is suspected in the stabbing death of Garrett Armand White on May 29, 2011.

Wednesday, Chamontae Walker, Corey Yates and Meeko Carraway are expected by Judge Motley for a status hearing. All three men are suspected of first-degree murder in the shooting death of Darrel Hendy.

A trial is due to start Monday in the May 2010 shooting death of 18-year-old DC City Council intern Alante Sutton. Omare Cotton was indicted on a charge of first-degree murder in connection with the case in November. Judge Gerald Fisher has the trial.

On Tuesday, Aaron Adams is expected for a bond review hearing with Judge Fisher at 10:20 a.m. Adams is suspected in the death of Garrett Armand White.

Philip Crooms is expected for a preliminary hearing with Judge Lynn Leibovitz. Crooms is suspected in the death of Delonte Butler on Sept. 25, 2010. A preliminary hearing was begun in August, but Leibovitz sent government prosecutors back to the drawing board, instructing them to find clarification on the cause of death.

A jury trial has been scheduled for February. A co-defendant in the case, Corey Yates, is expected to be arraigned on a first-degree murder charge in Monday at the same time.

On Monday Judge Lynn Leibovitz has two scheduled felony arraignments. Derrell Bennett and Reginald Banks are expected to be arraigned each on a charge of first-degree murder while armed, in connection with the death of Keith Banks. Read the indictment here.

Kevin Clark and Donald Crosland are expected for a status hearing with Judge Thomas Motley. They are suspected in the fatal shooting of Ricardo Minger in Southeast D.C. on Jan. 7, 2011. A trial date has been set in the case for Oct. 17.

Week Ahead

Next week is relatively quiet at D.C. Superior Court for homicide cases. A scheduled preliminary hearing for Albrecht Muth, suspected of killing his wife, Viola Drath, in their Georgetown home, has been postponed. It was originally scheduled for Friday.

Three other cases are still on the books for next week, though.

On Thursday, James Brewer and Stephen Page are expected for a preliminary hearing in a first-degree murder case. They are suspected in the murder of Solomon Reese. Judge Thomas Motley is expected to hear the case at 9:10 a.m.

On Monday Keith Wade is expected for a status hearing in a first-degree murder case by Judge Lynn Leibovitz. He’s charged in the shooting death of Keith Neal which took place in January 2010.

On Tuesday Jeremy Risper and Kwan Kearney are expected to be arraigned on first-degree murder and weapons charges in connection with the shooting death of 19-year-old Jamal Wilson. They are expected before Judge Thomas Motley.

On Monday a jury trial is expected to begin in the case against Samson Alemayhu. Alemayhu is charged with the stabbing death of Assefaw Hagos 1900 block of 9th Street, NW in May 2010. Judge Lynn Leibovitz has the case.

On Thursday Marc Tapp is expected by Judge Leibovitz for a preliminary hearing. Tapp is suspected of first-degree murder in the shooting death of Jermaine Anderson at “Ivy City Day” in May.

On Friday, Musonda Mulenga is expected by Judge Thomas Motley for a preliminary hearing. He’s suspected in the February 2010 shooting death of Michaeldeon Talley.

Ronald Pickett is expected for a status hearing in front of Judge Gerald Fisher. Pickett, who is not in custody, is accused of killing his fiance, Vanessa McGee in their home in March. He’s suspected of manslaughter in the case.

Judge Fisher is also expecting Terrance McNeal, who is scheduled for a preliminary hearing in a second-degree murder case. He is suspected in the stabbing death of 53-year-old Charles Hicks in June.

Judge Leibovitz is expected to see William Faison for a preliminary hearing. Faison is suspected of felony murder in the shooting death of Jeffrey Covington on July 2.
