On June 6, 52-year-old Beasley was found suffering from visible stab wounds at 22nd and I Street Northeast. According to an autopsy, Beasley was stabbed six times, including once to the left neck.
Charging documents in the case state that a witness to the stabbing told police that Beasley and Bilal had been arguing for the past two days when, on June 6, they and others returned from a day of work at a construction site. Read more
A man found beaten Sunday night in Northeast DC has died of his injuries and police have ruled the case a homicide.
The man was found unconscious in the 1200 block of Bladensburg Road, Northeast shortly after 10 p.m. Sunday, July 6. He died the following evening. Police have not identified him.

Police are seeking the public’s help in identifying two persons of interest in their investigation of the death of 76-year-old James Oh.
On July 4, officers responding to a robbery in the 5500 block of Colorado Avenue Northwest found Oh suffering from head trauma at approximately 5:19 p.m. Oh was transported to a local hospital where succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
MPD has released a video of two men they are trying to identify, which can be seen below.

A man found beaten in Northwest DC nearly two weeks ago died of his injuries last Wednesday, police have said, and his death has been ruled a homicide.
Police identified the victim as 57-year-old Michael Hrizuk of Arlington, Virginia.

The story Nilson Maldonado told police about how Anthony Sanchez died was that he’d found Sanchez outside Maldonado’s girlfriend’s apartment, crawling and convulsing on the ground, as if on drugs, and took him to Washington MedStar hospital. To friends, Maldonado said he shot Sanchez by accident, while they wrestled over a gun.
Police believe, however, that Maldonado simply “pointed a gun at Anthony Sanchez and fired, in conscious disregard at an extreme risk of death or serious bodily injury,” charging documents say.
Maldonado is charged with second-degree murder while armed. Judge Karen Howze ordered him released under high-intensity supervision Thursday, pending a preliminary hearing on July 18. Read more
A shooting in the 1200 Block of Simms Place Northeast killed 23-year-old DaShawn Hammonds early Sunday morning, according to MPD.
Police officers found Hammonds unconscious and unresponsive at approximately 5:23 a.m. Emergency medical services transported him to a local hospital where succumbed to his injuries.

A stabbing at 22nd and I Street Northeast killed 52-year-old Alonzo Gregory Beasley Sunday afternoon, according to MPD.
Police officers found Beasley suffering from apparent stab wounds to the body at approximately 3:33 p.m. Beasley was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Police found 64-year-old Barbara Moore Friday night suffocated in a residence in the 4100 block of Gault Place Northeast, MPD announced Monday.
James Johnson, 30, was arrested and held on suspicion of second-degree murder in the shooting death of Talbert Mitchell Bright. Charging documents allege that Johnson shot Bright in a park near 2nd Street and Massachusetts Avenue NW over a can of beer.
Joshua Andrews, 22, was sentenced to 41 and a half years in prison by Judge Rhonda Winston. Jurors found Andrews guilty of first-degree murder while armed, assault with intent to kill, and other five related charges in the June 2010 death of Darond Alonte Lucas.
Police identified Michael Gayle as a suspect in the stabbing death of Eboni Domally and asked for the public’s help in apprehending him. According to a press release, Gayle should be considered armed and dangerous.
